Fan zone activities that fill the space before kick-off

A fan zone isn't there to entertain for its own sake — it's there to get fans arriving an hour earlier and staying longer. That needs short, measurable, competitive stations, and a leaderboard tying them together.

What we recommend for this event

Every one of these is from our own inventory, available to rent with staff.

Football Drills — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

Football Drills

A skill challenge you can run fast before kick-off and during breaks, and turn into an all-day leaderboard. In a fan zone this is the number one activity.

Speed Master — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

Speed Master

Shot power and speed measured with a number on the display. Fans love it because it's instantly comparable and the person next in line wants to beat it.

Hoops — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

Hoops

If the event is built around basketball or mixed sports rather than football, this delivers the same competitive rush in a smaller footprint.

TapTap — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

TapTap

Reaction-time testing that fits the sports narrative perfectly: “are you faster than a goalkeeper?”

TapWar — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

TapWar

Two fan camps head-to-head with a live scoreboard. There's no simpler way to build pre-match atmosphere.

Gifie Trading Cards — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

Gifie Trading Cards

A personalised player card made from the fan, in club colours. They keep it, and the sponsor's logo stays on it.

AI photo booth — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

AI photo booth

AI sports photo: the fan on the pitch, in kit, under the floodlights. The most shareable content in the whole zone.

Jump High — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

Jump High

A vertical-jump test that's dramatic and over in seconds. Ideal for a queue because the spectators cheer along.

Thor's Hammer — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

Thor's Hammer

A strength test for the edge of the fan zone: loud, competitive and needs no explanation.

Claw Game — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

Claw Game

A claw machine filled with club merch. Sponsors like it because the prize is branded too.

Prinker — Match day, tournaments, sponsorship

Prinker

Club crest or sponsor logo as a washable tattoo — visible from the stands, zero commitment.

Why measurable activities win here

In a sports setting everything is about numbers. Give a guest a value — km/h, seconds, centimetres — and they'll instantly compare themselves to others and come back to improve it. That's why a shot-power meter outperforms a passive photo wall, even when the wall costs less.

Sponsor visibility inside the zone

The leaderboard screen, the prizes and the printed cards all carry sponsor branding, and the fan carries the content onwards themselves. That's far more measurable exposure than a banner on the fence.

A personalised player-card factory: the fan's photo, name, position and stats on a club-branded card, printed on the spot. Organised into series it becomes collectible across a season.

Custom concept

Beat the Pro

Fans compete against a real player's benchmark — shot power, reaction time or accuracy. The pro's number stays on the display, so every attempt has stakes.

Custom concept

Live Fan Leaderboard

Results from several stations on one live leaderboard on the big screen. On match day it's what keeps fans in the zone during the hour before kick-off.

Example combinations

Starting points. We adapt any of them to your headcount, venue and budget — pricing always comes in a tailored quote.

Fan Zone Starter

For a smaller match day or sponsor stand: one sports skill game and one reaction contest.

Not sure which one to pick?

Tell it your headcount, venue and vibe, and Gifie Match will put a concrete shortlist together — it already knows which event type you're on.

Frequently asked questions

Do these work outdoors, in front of a stadium?
Yes, most of the sports stations are built for outdoor use. They generally need power and cover, which we agree during the site visit.
How many fans can we serve on a match day?
One station turns over 40-80 fans an hour depending on play time. With 3-4 stations a three-hour pre-match window pushes 600-1000 people through the zone.
Can the leaderboard span several stations?
That's a custom build (Live Fan Leaderboard), but it's doable. We agree the scoring and display up front, and you need to plan development time for it.
